PURPOSE OF CLUB
The Reading Bowl Team is open to all students in grades 9-12. The purpose of the Reading Bowl Team is to “promote the best current young adult literature for Georgia high school age students, to encourage young adults to read” and to promote lifelong learners. The Reading Bowl Team members will have the opportunity to compete against other high school teams at the Virtual Helen Ruffin High School Reading Bowl Competition on January 22, 2021.
To become a team member students must fill out an application, and pay yearly dues of $1. The Reading Bowl Team will elect officers at their November meeting. Attendance at meetings and active participation at events are necessary for the success of the team. Students who would like to join the team may start reading the books in ebook format now.
DESCRIPTION
The members of the Reading Bowl Team will read the 2020-2021 Georgia Peach Award-nominated books selected by the Georgia Library Media Association. The books are available in the Learning Commons or online via Overdrive, Follett Destiny, and Sora ebooks by visiting the following site: https://schoolwires.henry.k12.ga.us/Page/82898
