This is my second year at Union Grove High School, and I am looking forward to an amazing 2024-2025 school year. I teach 9th and 10th grade English Literature & Composition. I attended the University of Georgia where I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism. I am currently pursuing my Masters of Arts at Augusta University.

Previously, I enjoyed a career in public relations and marketing communications.

I live in Henry County and my husband and I are blessed with three children and two dogs.

This year, our ELA focus will be on enhancing reading, writing, speaking, and grammar skills. Get ready for a busy and exciting year of high school English.

  • If a student has not crossed the threshold of the classroom before the bell rings, they are tardy.
  • Students will place all their phones and headphones in the caddy before the bell rings to begin class.
  • Students need to come to class having gone to the restroom.  Restroom passes are only for extreme emergencies.
  • Students will respect one another by not interrupting one another during class discussions or insulting one another.
  • Students will show respect for the administration, teachers, and substitute teachers at all times.
  • Students will not get out of their seats while the teacher is lecturing.
  • Students will refrain from eating in my class.

To Kill a Mockingbird Cover

The unforgettable novel of a childhood in a sleepy Southern town and the crisis of conscience that rocked it, To Kill A Mockingbird became both an instant bestseller and a critical success when it was first published in 1960. It went on to win the Pulitzer Prize in 1961 and was later made into an Academy Award-winning film, also a classic.
